Code of ethics

The values and standards of conduct that guide everyone who acts on behalf of LUSHIA.

Purpose and scope

How we act, inside and outside the association.

Version 1.0 · October 2026

This code sets out the values and standards of conduct of LUSHIA (Luxury Sustainable Hotels, A.C.). It guides the decisions of everyone who acts on behalf of the association and is the basis of the values assessment completed by every person or organization that collaborates with us.

It applies to the governing body, the team, mentors, volunteers, interns and members when they take part in LUSHIA activities. It also applies to partners, speakers and sponsors in everything concerning their relationship with the association.

Values

What guides us.

Integrity

We act honestly, comply with the law and keep our promises, and we never use the association for personal gain.

Respect and dignity

We treat every person with respect, free from discrimination and harassment, in line with our equality and inclusion policy.

Transparency

We explain where our resources come from, how we use them and who we work with.

Independence

We decide according to our purpose, not commercial interests, including those of companies linked to our founder.

Regeneration

We aim for every activity to leave people, culture and nature better than they were.

Accountability

We answer for what we do, acknowledge our mistakes and put them right.

Conflicts of interest

Decisions free from personal interests.

  • We declare in writing any personal, family, professional or financial interest that could influence a decision of the association.
  • Anyone with a conflict of interest takes no part in that decision.
  • Relationships with related parties, such as Regenera Luxury and the Regenera Luxury Institute, are documented in writing, carried out on clear terms and reported in our transparency section. LUSHIA receives no commission on the Institute’s courses.
  • We do not share the contacts or data of members, participants or interns with related companies without their express consent.
  • No one uses information obtained through LUSHIA for their own benefit or that of others.

Resources, donations and sponsorship

Every peso at the service of our purpose.

  • All our income (fees, donations and sponsorship) goes exclusively to the purposes of the association, and no surplus is distributed among members or directors.
  • We accept donations and sponsorship only from people and organizations whose activity is compatible with our values, and never in exchange for influence over our decisions.
  • Sponsorship funds specific LUSHIA activities, is agreed in writing and is invoiced separately.
  • We only accept gifts and hospitality of token value that do not compromise our independence. Anything else is declined, or recorded and handed over to the association.
  • We keep orderly accounts and meet our tax and transparency obligations.

Anti-corruption

Zero tolerance of bribery.

We do not offer, promise, request or accept bribes, improper payments or favours, whether directly or through third parties. This includes our relationship with authorities and public officials, with whom we always work transparently and on the record.

Honest communication

Say what we do, and do what we say.

  • We do not overstate our achievements or our impact, and we avoid any form of greenwashing: when we give a figure, we can back it up.
  • We clearly distinguish what LUSHIA does from what our partners and Regenera Luxury do.
  • We publish images and testimonials only with people’s informed consent, and always protect the identity of children and adolescents.
  • We respect intellectual property and cite our sources.

People, communities and data

Respect for those who trust us.

  • We protect personal data in line with our privacy notice and Mexican data-protection law.
  • We work with local and Indigenous communities only with their free, prior and informed consent, we credit their knowledge and we share the benefits with them.
  • We protect children, adolescents and people in vulnerable situations in line with our safeguarding policy.
  • We guarantee equal treatment in line with our equality and inclusion policy.
  • We care for the environment in our activities: we reduce waste and travel, and choose local, responsible suppliers.

Collaboration request

Tell us who you are and what you are interested in. We will reply from info@lushia.org.

Every collaboration starts with an assessment. Every person or organization that works with LUSHIA first completes a short assessment to show that they share our values and our commitment to action. We will explain the steps when we reply. Read the assessment →
